Imagine this, you took one class with a awesome hairstylist named Aubrey Loots (who turned into your mentor) and you learned all about fashion week. You go to NYC Fashion Week and you had an awesome time. Great awesome, so many months later you get an email heading , “Who wants to go to JAPAN.” Am I reading that right? JAPAN. Yup, Aubrey took a group of us hair dressers half way across the globe to learn about everything hair in Japan. I was initially invited all because I took his class on fashion week. It was a trip to remember. It was my first time out of the country (and yeah I know I went to Japan.) We took classes, went site seeing, and did a bad ass photoshoot. I was so sad to say goodbye when I left but I knew this wasn’t the last of the Aubrey Hair Adventures.

Hair Love Retreat

So lets paint a picture for you guys…. imagine hair education, some of the biggest names in hair hanging out all weekend in the middle of Zion National Park, marketing classes and leveling up in this career. Well yes that’s exactly what Hair Love Retreat was on paper but you guys have no idea that this trip actually changed my life. It taught me so much more about myself that anything could. Elizabeth Faye has been my mentor for almost a year now, and she founded all the hair love brands. She created a safe space for people like me to be myself in this industry. I cried in tears of facing my fear, of joy, and realization that I am special in my own way. I walked away with so much more that I thought of that weekend. It was the best decision of my life. Stay tuned because in January 2020 I will be attending her business retreat in Utah with her whole office crew.

AHA Moments Greece

Another day another adventure, this time Greece! Shortly after Hair Love (like 3 hours I got off the plane) and headed to meet my aha family in Greece. It was surreal to say the least, the city of Athens was beautiful. The food was great and my heart was full. The hair history in Greece is where it all started. And to think I’d be lucky enough to visit such a beautiful city. The photoshoot was so awesome and it tested my skills for sure. The photos came out awesome and my vision came to life. It was great spending time with my aha family once again and traveling this time was so less stressful. Next stop Japan (yes again!) in October 2019!
